Jim Could’ve Been on Oprah…

Last Friday, I received this email from the Oprah Winfrey Show:

 Hello! My name is Julie and I am a producer at the Oprah Winfrey Show. We are doing a show with Billy Joel and I noticed you on Youtube.com singing “Just the Way You Are.” I was wondering if we might be able to use your video for an upcoming show. I would like you to send me a copy of the video to my ftp site. (information on the site below.) I am in a time crunch and need this ASAP.

Can you please e-mail me with the answers to these questions asap:
1. Do you own the copyright to this footage? (did you shoot this and own the rights to this video?)
2. When was this video shot?
3. What is your full name?
4. Your address?
5. E-mail address?
6. Phone number?
7. How old are you?

If you could please write me back with the answers to those questions, plus your name, address, and phone number as soon as possible I would be grateful.
Again, please write back to me with the answers to the questions and your information. Also, please download your video to the ftpsite as soon as possible to be considered for the show.
We are collecting hundreds of videos and don’t know which ones we will use at this time. If you are chosen we will contact you to sign a legal agreement to use your video on the air.

Imagine my shock and excitement. After getting Jim’s approval, I uploaded the video and waited for the Oprah people to get back to me. And waited. And waited. And waited. The Billy Joel episode aired last Monday without any Youtube clips. I guess they decided to go in a different direction.
